| Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy
This Approach is based on the premise that pain, dysfunction, and psychological stressors are held in our bodies at a cellular level. Working individually in an atmosphere of confidentiality, safety and acceptance PRYT uses mind body techniques to allow you to explore their relationship organically. The therapist uses support yoga postures, psychotherapy techniques, meditation and other awareness techniques to guide you on a path of exploration, healing and ultimately transformation. PYRT is beneficial in many life situations including working through relationship issues, managing stress and anxiety, relieving chronic pain, supporting substance abuse recovery, healing form emotional wounds and promoting personal growth.
Structural Yoga Therapy
Individual structural yoga is designed to meet your specific level of physical ability to work toward improved health and well being. Individual sessions are designed for personal attention, support and specific techniques or your body and life. Benefits may include improved strength, flexibility, range of motion, balance as well as deep breathing, peace of mind and centeredness.

About Your Practitioner

Emily Harris Smith began practicing yoga in 2000 under Summer Greenless. With Summer's encouragement, she began teaching in 2002 and became a registerd yoga teacher with the Yoga Alliance. In 2006 she became certified as a Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapist after completing over 650 hours of training. She has had education and instruction under yoga masters Sean Corn, Manju Jois, Beryl Bender Birch, David Life, Sharron Gannon, Doug Keller and Melanie Fowler. Her personal practice consists of an eclectic blend of yoga styles emphasizing body wisdom, introspection and free expression. Through her personal practice, she has been able to manage joint and muscle pain associated with artheitis and scoliosis as well as effective management of anxiety and life stressors. Emily is a wife and mother of two boys. She earned a masters in Rehabilitation Counseling in 1992 and is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. She has worked with people with disabilities
since 1985.
